The Scottish hotel industry is experiencing a "difficult year" according to the latest figures from accountants PKF. Average occupancy rates for the summer months are down 2.8 per cent compared with 2011 levels, with hoteliers in Edinburgh being particularly badly hit - occupancy is down 8 per cent in the capital. Aberdeen continues to buck the trend with a 21.3 per cent increase in occupancy during July alone. Close Window |
