15 Oct 2012 Falmouth Beach Club and Spa reopens after fire BY Aoife Dowling |
![]() Falmouth Beach Hotel in Cornwall, which was devastated by fire six months ago, has reopened its Beach Club leisure centre. The indoor pool and leisure complex were largely undamaged by the fire but due to health and safety concerns were forced to close. All spa and gym facilities are now running and classes will restart in the coming weeks. A full-scale demolition was carried out on the remaining hotel building after it was determined that the building was too badly damaged to save. With the demolition almost complete the owners are planning a new hotel on the seafront site. It will keep with the original design but will maximise the number of sea view rooms. Plans for the new hotel were submitted for planning permission in September, with a decision expected within 8 to 12 weeks. Close Window |
