The Morrison Dublin reopens under new management

Ireland’s first DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, The Morrison Dublin, reopened its doors to guests on 1 February.

The hotel is the fourth in as many countries operated by Switzerland-based Martinez Hotels & Resorts, which was established in 2011 and has announced plans to become one of Europe’s leading business hotel operators.

The brand, which has partnered with DoubleTree to operate The Morrison, specialises in managing mid-scale and up-market business hotels under licence agreements with globally recognised brands such as Hilton and Starwood.

Its other hotels, which all feature spa facilities, include The Grand Tirolia, Kitzbühel, Austria; Quisisana Palace, Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic; and New Peterhof, St Petersburg, Russia.

The contemporary renovation of the 138-room Morrison hotel is centred on music and sound, with guestrooms adorned with a line each from Irish songs – including traditional ballads to modern hits.

It is close to Dublin’s financial centre, the Guinness Storehouse, and sporting and concert venues such as the Aviva Stadium, O2 Arena and the Bord Gais Energy Theatre.

Wedding, conference and event space can accommodate up to 240 guests, and dining options Bar Quay 14 and Morrison Grill will open to the public on 11 February.

Global head of DoubleTree by Hilton John Greenleaf said: “Guests will experience a taste of the city’s Celtic heritage and modern vibrancy while enjoying the signature DoubleTree by Hilton touches that we know appeal to travellers across Europe – all starting of course with the trademark warm chocolate chip cookie served upon check in.”
