Google Maps provides views inside Indianapolis Colts stadium

Google Maps has taken its street view technology to its first NFL stadium, offering users a 360-degree view of the Lucas Oil Stadium – home to the Indianapolis Colts.

The search engine revealed via its LatLong blog that Google users would be able to see exclusive views of the Colts’ locker room, the stadium’s three concourses and its suites.

Product manager at Google Maps Evan Rapoport said: “This imagery is just one example of how we’re working hard to build the most comprehensive, accurate and usable map of the world – complete with imagery from inside your favourite sporting and event spaces.”

Colts chief operating officer Pete Ward said: “This imagery gives us the opportunity to share our home, an award winning state-of-the-art facility, with Colts’ fans around the world.”

Opened in 2008 Lucas Oil Stadium has already hosted the Super Bowl and can accommodate concerts, national conventions, trade shows and local and national amateur sports events.

Google Maps has already provided internet-users with insider views of museums and National Trust attractions.
