The home of Hockey Wales has been upgraded with a Greenfield TXpitch, the first of its kind in the UK and the same surface that will be used at next year's Hockey World Cup in The Hague, the Netherlands. The £170,000 investment included the replacement of the existing playing surface and shock pad and is part of a strategy to create a hockey centre of excellence at Cardiff. Hockey Wales CEO Helen Bushell said: "The new surface is the first of its type in the UK and will provide our performance athletes with a high quality environment to compete internationally."
