Ritz-Carlton company adds Abama to portfolio

The Abama resort and spa in Tenerife, Spain, has become part of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company’s European portfolio.

Located in Guia de Isora on the west coast of Tenerife, accommodation at the cliff-top resort includes private villas with swimming pools.

Abama’s 26,500sq ft (2,462sq m) spa features treatments inspired by Tenerife’s close location to the North African coast and boasts a tepedarium, sauna, snow cabin and garden.

Abama is the eighth location to join the group’s portfolio and Ritz-Carlton assumed management of the resort on 17 July.

The company currently operates 65 hotels around the world and has more than 30 projects currently under development, including properties in China, Ireland and the US.

An ESPA spa facility recently opened at the US$350m (253m euro, £169.7m) Ritz-Carlton Moscow hotel on Tverskaya Street in Russia.
