10 Oct 2014 Woodhouse Day Spa franchise introduces sleep-inducing treatments BY Helen Andrews |
![]() The US day spa franchise Woodhouse Day Spa will be introducing a collection of treatments designed to improve sleep patterns in January 2015. Rest-inducing therapies include a massage treatment called ‘Lavender Dreams’ which will encompass the use of wild lavender and other herbs, supposed to promote relaxation. The ‘Deep Sleep Massage’ is a head, neck and shoulder massage using warmed organic aromatherapy oils. After a tea-drinking ritual, a heated compress is placed on the lower back muscles to reduce tension. ‘Blissful Night’ is a therapy that begins with a Vichy rainfall shower and then a back, neck and head massage using aromatherapy oils. Inhalation techniques are taught to the guest during this treatment to promote relaxation. An Ayurvedic treatment called ‘The Soma’ combines a reflexology foot massage and a Shirodhara scalp massage. The Woodhouse Day Spa franchise uses sustainable, organic ingredients and practices in its operation and, due to its dedication to sustainability, it is a member of the Green Spa Network.
