Marisa Berenson and Sofitel announce mental and body detox programme

Accor hotels’ global wellbeing director Aldina Duarte Ramos, and Marisa Berenson – actress, model and Sofitel SoSPA ambassador – have collaborated to create a new mental and body detox programme, which will be found at Sofitel SoSPAs around the world.

Nicknamed the “it-girl” in the 1970s by Yves Saint Laurent, Berenson became a SoSpa ambassador in December 2012. She worked on the SoSPA Marrakech renovation and launched a range of beauty cosmetics and treatments.

The mental and body detox programme includes personalised coaching, wholesome foods, body care, stretching exercises, cooking lessons and Iyashi Dome treatments.

The signature one-hour SoLife treatment will accompany the programme. The therapy is inspired by osteopathy and fasciatherapy and includes the use of concentrated rosemary oil, said to aid detoxification, and concentrated ginger essential oil – which is supposed to revitalise the guest. A cold drink of thyme twig tea and cucumber slices is served after the massage.

Part of the detox programme is focussed on the “Wellness Food” concept, developed by Sofitel and Berenson. The consumption of certain foods is prioritised throughout this programme. These foods, such as blueberries, avocado, grapes and quinoa, are promoted during this programme due to their energy boosting properties.

The combined SoLife treatment and Wellness Food concept will first preview at the Sofitel Marrakech Lounge & Spa later this year.
