FX Mayr Health Centre's gut health doctors offer programme to battle the cold and flu season

The head medical doctor at FX Mayr Health Centre, Dr Stephan Domenig has come up with a new digestive reparation programme to support the immune system during the cold and flu season.

The course will take place at the Austrian medi-spa and detox retreat located on the shores of Lake Wörthersee.

This centre, which has been newly renovated to include an updated sauna, spa area Kneipping and cosmetic areas, is dedicated to gut health. The FX Mayr Cure is designed to repair the damage done to our digestive tract during everyday life and to reduce guests’ vulnerability to illness.

The Kneipping foot baths were updated as part of the property's renovation

Scheduled to take place between 1 November 2014 and 31 January 2015, the new ‘Winter Vitality’ programme will feature an initial medical examination and consultation to tailor each guest’s week, 10-day or 14-day stay at the facility. A yoga session will take place during the week, in addition to three medical manual abdominal treatments, two detox wrap treatments, a detox massage, two ‘feel good’ full-body massages, a mud pack, two sessions of medical herb inhalation and a laboratory examination – which will study each guest’s vitamin D levels, analyse their urine and carry out an acid alkaline test.

As part of the programme, a Mayr doctor will lead a weekly winter walk, during which he or she will educate guests on kidney health.
