Shangri-La Le Touessrok to debut in November following major renovations

Le Touessrok Resort & Spa in Mauritius will close for renovations on 15 April before being re-flagged and relaunched as a Shangri-La-managed property in November – two months later than expected.

Thanks to an agreement made in June 2014 by Shangri-La’s holding company Shangri-La Asia and joint venture partner Sun Resorts – Le Touessrok’s primary stakeholder – the property will reopen and start welcoming guests on 1 November 2015, once the revamp is complete.

The renovation will encompass all 200 sea-facing guestrooms and villas, plus all public areas. Shangri-La’s spa and restaurant concept will also be brought to this location. Further information on the spa’s facilities is not yet available, according to a spokesperson for Shangri-La.

Guests will have access to Ilot Mangenie, a private island with 3.5km (2.2 miles) of beach. The resort is also five minutes from Ile aux Cerfs, which hosts the 18-hole championship golf course designed by Bernhard Langer.

Shangri-La Le Touessrok Resort & Spa will be the second property in the brand’s growing portfolio in the Indian Ocean, joining Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa, Maldives and preceding the 2016 debut of Shangri-La’s Hambantota Resort & Spa in Sri Lanka.
