Elemis spa to open in the shadow of Mount Athos

A new 900sq m (9,688sq ft) Eagles Spa by Elemis is set to open near the birthplace of Aristotle, in time to celebrate the great philosopher’s 2,400th birthday.

Located in Halkidiki, Greece, the spa is part of a larger expansion of the five-star Eagles Palace resort, which also includes the addition of Eagles Villas.

The 42 villas, designed by architects 3sk Stylianidis, are nestled into a green hilltop and feature a minimalist aesthetic; each comes with private plunge pool and views of the resort’s garden, private beach and the Aegean Sea. The move is designed to create more space and privacy for larger groups and families to enjoy the resort.

The Eagles Spa by Elemis will include six treatment rooms, doubling in size from the previous offerings, and a separate, intimate spa will also be available at the Villas. Additionally, there are plans to offer open-air beachside massages to take advantage of the sea air.

“This is one of the finest spas in Greece – actually a jewel among spas in Greece,” said Ioannis Charalambous, director of brands and development for Relia Trading, Elemis’ distribution partner in Greece. “Just a breath away from the Holy Mountains, it has a magical aura within a majestic atmosphere and a beautiful beach. It makes the spa a truly spiritual experience.”

The spa is the first in Halkidiki to offer Elemis’ Biotec facial treatments, including the Eagles Signature Journey, a 120-minute treatment that combines massage with an Elemis Biotec Radiance Facial. Several Elemis packages are also offered, including two- and three-day relaxation and escape packages, as well as the Full-on Renew and Retreat Elemis Royal Package, which includes five to six days of treatments.

“The spa combines some of the most knowledgeable therapists in Greece together with a unique location, which is really a recipe for success,” said Charalambous. “The manager of the spa, Sophie Chaviary, is a long-term Elemis-trained therapist with an extensive knowledge of the spa industry and a great passion and knowledge.”

The resort also features indoor and outdoor swimming pools, water sports and PADI diving centres, a children's’ club, extensive gardens, and several restaurants and bars. An Artist in Residence programme is offered, as well as cooking classes with monks from nearby Mount Athos – one of Orthodox Christianity’s most sacred sites.

The gym has also been completely renovated, adding Pilates and yoga studios, as well as Crossfit programming.
