Tork EasyCube is set to revolutionise the theme park washroom

A growing number of theme parks around Europe are enhancing their washrooms this summer by ‘connecting’ them to the web and offering data-driven cleaning.

Attractions in Scandinavia, France and the Netherlands have installed the ground-breaking Tork EasyCubeTM system from washroom hygiene supplier Tork®.

When dispensers for soap, hand towels and toilet tissue are connected to the web, cleaning staff are notified via a smartphone or tablet when dispensers are running low on supplies. Meanwhile, sensors on cubicle doors help them monitor visitor numbers and focus maintenance checks on the busiest washrooms.

Amelia Baker, Tork's brand communications manager, said: “During the tourist season it can be difficult for overstretched theme park staff to keep the washrooms well stocked at all times,”

“This leads to cubicles with no toilet paper and long queues for the remaining loos, and where traffic is particularly heavy there may be a need for extra cleaning – but the staff can’t be everywhere at once.

“Tork EasyCube provides insights into which washrooms need maintenance checks and when. As a result the washrooms are better equipped and the staff employed more effectively.”
