Sisley opens day spa in its hometown Paris

French luxury cosmetics company Sisley Paris has opened its first ever day spa in the French capital Paris.

The company, founded in 1976 by Roland de Saint Vincent and Jean Francois Laporte – before being taken over by French entrepreneur Hubert d'Ornano – has launched La Maison Sisley at 5 avenue de Friedland, in the centre of Paris’s 8th district.

Despite calling Paris home for more than 40 years – and having partnered with a number of luxury spas all over the world – Sisley has never before operated a spa in its hometown.

The 4,000sq ft (360sq m) spa is housed in a listed building and has been designed by mother and daughter team, Isabelle d’Ornano – the wife of the late Hubert – and Christine d’Ornano, who holds the role of vice president at Sisley.

There are four distinct areas in the spa: a treatment area, lounge, Sisley Café and a Sisley Boutique.

The treatment area houses five treatment rooms – including one double treatment room – and offers a menu of facials and body treatments, all using Sisley products.

Sisley has created a special range of treatments for the spa, called “The Paris Exclusives”. Each of the four treatments has been designed to address an issue affecting city dwellers: stress, fatigue, pollution, and heavy legs.

The spa lounge – where clients are welcomed and given a consultation for a private diagnosis – has been designed as a small, private living room and features works of art specially chosen for the space.

Meanwhile, the Sisley café offers a customers a daily changing menu with healthy options. The 800sq ft (70sq m) retail space, Sisley Boutique, features a fragrance bar designed exclusively for Maison Sisley.

Christine d’Ornano said: “We designed the Maison Sisley to be a place that immediately relaxes you and where visual harmony is key.

“Just like when decorating a home, we wanted to create a place that felt different from others, living spaces with a soul, a style, and an elegance.”

Sisley currently has more than 80 distribution partners around the world, including hotel and day spas. These include the Sisley-branded spa at The Carlyle hotel in New York, US and a standalone spa in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
