Speedflex launches eighth studio in newly-owned Surrey club

Boutique operator Speedflex has completed the purchase and rebranding of a fitness club in Reigate, Surrey - installing a Speedflex studio in the facility.

Speedflex bought fitness club Fithub for an undisclosed sum and has rebranded it into One Premium Fitness.

Good Morning Britain presenter Ben Shephard launched the Speedflex studio at the newly-opened club this week. Shephard, along with former England football captain Alan Shearer, is a Speedflex ambassador.

The operator has pumped £110,000 (US$149,260, €124,740) into refurbishing the facility, with cash spent on cardio and strength equipment, a free-weights area and new flooring in the gym.

As well as providing Speedflex sessions, the club also offers group exercise classes in a separate room. The operator worked with the Pulse Group on the refurbishment.

“We’re delighted to have officially opened our latest studio in Reigate,” said Paul Ferris,
Speedflex chief executive. “The launch of the new studio offers members both the benefit of a big box gym with state-of-the-art equipment as well as a boutique studio concept.”

Speedflex sessions offer high intensity interval training (HIIT). The machines allow users to perform traditional exercises, such as squats and shoulder press, that generate personalised resistance levels so every individual can train at his or her own level.

The operator also has studios in London, West Byfleet, Newcastle, Darlington, Cork, Dallas and Dubai.
