Frontgrid announces first sale of Paradrop VR

Frontgrid has announced the sale of its first Paradrop VR attraction, following its successful launch at EAS in September.

The world first attraction was developed in partnership with dynamic media-based attractions specialist Simworx, and is designed to provide an immersive experience that realistically simulates the feeling of flying a paraglider.

It features a smooth up and down motion, incorporating sudden drops and smooth deceleration to make the rider feel as if they are actually soaring through the sky. It also includes an interactive gaming element, where riders score points by flying through a series of targets during their descent.

The ride is available in 4, 6, 12 and 20-rider options and can be equipped with TV screens so that spectators can witness the riders’ experience.

The first unit was purchased by Universe Science Park in Nordborg, Denmark. Universe Science Park combines fun and learning with science and technology, in order to inspire guests.

A four-seater model will be installed next year, in a specially dedicated virtual reality area in the park as part of a plan to enhance its VR offering.
