15 Jan 2018 Human resource under the microscope at APSWC roundtable BY Tom Walker |
Human resource has been revealed as the theme for this year's Asia Pacific Spa & Wellness Coalition's (APSWC) roundtable, to be held in Singapore from 15 to 16 March. The two-day, invitation-only event will cover four areas – mentoring, job seekers’ perception of spa and wellness, human resource management practices and career paths. Following the event, APSWC will publish a white paper based on the discussions, to act as a guide on human resource management for the region’s spa sector. Titled A Personnel View for Asia’s Spa and Wellness Industry, the paper will be distributed among the region’s government authorities, the media and industry stakeholders. “Acting as a roadmap, the collective voice of the APSWC will help define the industry’s future, and what steps need to be taken by industry stakeholders and government to achieve it,” said a spokesperson for APSWC. The organisations taking part include resorts operator Six Senses; Balinese massage centre Jarin Menari; Kairali Ayurvedic Group from India; Thailand-based M-Spa International; and the Kamalaya Health Resort. Last year's roundtable led to the publication of a white paper which identified customers, staff, technology and design as the primary issues facing the industry. Founded in 2006, the APSWC is a not-for-profit organisation, set up to improve and promote the spa industry for the benefit of all. Close Window |
