£500,000 outdoor terrace opens at L'Horizon Beach Hotel in Jersey

L'Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa in Jersey has re-opened its outdoor terrace following a £500,000 refurbishment.

Open daily from 11 am to dusk the outdoor terrace is designed to offer guests unparallelled views of St Brelade's Bay, and features a 54m (177ft) decked terrace, outdoor bar and 66-seat dining area, as well as a 32-seat relaxation lounge.

The hotel has also launched a new lunch and dinner menu exclusive to The Terrace dining room. Designed to reflect The Terrace's modern and relaxed décor, the menu features locally-inspired dishes with a focus on locally sourced ingredients and seasonal produce, and was developed by executive head chef Andrew Soddy.

"We are delighted to have our amazing new terrace open in time for the busy summer season," said hotel manager Shaun McGachan.

"Being outside is a main attraction here in Jersey, so it was important to give our guests and local diners a completely new and modern alfresco dining experience that makes the most of Jersey’s fabulous sunny climate and offers guests unbeatable views of the bay.

"With the new Terrace fully up and running to complement our Atlantic Room and The Grill restaurants, I’m confident L’Horizon now offers the most compelling beachside dining proposition on the island for residents that live here and those staying with us for a relaxing, leisurely break."

Julia Hands, chair and CEO of the hotel's operator Hand Picked Hotels, added she was thrilled with the results of the project.

"This project has been carefully designed and executed with guest comfort and enjoyment in mind," she said.

"Not only is this a very relaxed and welcoming space but the new menu balances effortlessly with the relaxed style we were keen to emulate, with seasonal produce and local influences inspiring the range of dishes."
