SIV and Westfield Health gym membership offers ‘transformational’ mental health support

Sheffield based health and wellbeing providers Westfield Health and SIV have revealed a collaborative new membership scheme that offers mental health support to its clients.

The two non-profit organisations have created an exclusive “access all areas” gym and mental health support membership available at seven of SIV’s Fitness Unlimited venues.

Enlistment promises include free telephone counselling, 24/7 access to a GP over the phone and the opportunity to use the Big White Wall – a leading online mental health and wellbeing service offering people self-help programmes, creative outlets and anonymous online therapy anytime and anywhere.

"In research we conducted, 30 per cent of people said they felt unsure about who to talk to or where to go to find help or support regarding mental health issues, and 40 per cent of people find it hard to talk about their mental health to anyone," said Westfield Health’s interim chief executive, Dave Capper.

"This partnership will help to tackle these types of problems. The project is part of our ongoing commitment to helping everyone to lead happier, healthier lives, as well as supporting the NHS and the wider community."

Enrollment for the scheme will be available until September. The membership also offers members unlimited access to their SIV gym, swimming pool, spa facilities and fitness classes. The collaboration means that any SIV member can get 20 per cent off Westfield Health’s Good4You Health Cash Plan, which allows people to claim money back towards the cost of essential health care such as dental appointments, eye tests, and therapy treatments.

"Both Westfield Health and SIV are dedicated to helping people lead healthier lives and achieve personal wellbeing so this fits perfectly," said Andrew Snelling, SIV’s chief executive.

"We hope this partnership will enable many more people to take care of their body and mind knowing that they can receive support and advice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year."
