Universal Studios set for the ‘Return of Michael Myers’

A raft of new, “terrifying” mazes will open at Universal Studios Florida as part of the attraction’s Halloween Horror Nights event.

Based on the fourth installment of the Halloween slasher movie series, one of the mazes will be set in the suburban town of Haddonfield, Illinois on Halloween night, where franchise antagonist Michael Myers has escaped Smith’s Grove Sanitarium and is hungry for revenge – stalking his niece Jamie and stopping at nothing to kill her.

The ‘Return of Michael Myers’ maze starts with Myers escape from the mental hospital and his encounters with his first victims at Penney’s Gas Station and Diner. Revellers will then follow him as he wreaks terror across Haddonfield.

Alan Howarth’s score will soundtrack the immersive experience, while the maze will include Myers in his classic featureless white mask and navy jumpsuit.

Guests will have to dodge his famous bloody knife at every turn of the maze, while guests will see a cameo of Myer’s psychiatrist Dr. Loomis and other famous characters from the film.

Halloween Horror Nights has run for over a quarter of a century, with fans of horror turning up to be involved in their favourite movies.

Universal Studios has teamed up with Virgin Atlantic to offer seven nights’ stay in Orlando, Florida with accommodation and a pass for Halloween Horror Nights included for the event.
