06 Dec 2018 Michaelis Boyd design cantina-style taquerias at Coal Drops Yard BY Andrew Manns |
London-based architecture and interior design studio Michaelis Boyd have completed work on Casa Pastor and Plaza Pastor – two interconnected Mexican restaurants at the recently opened retail destination Coal Drops Yard. The restaurants, which feature a varied menu inspired by the time its founders spent in Mexico City, were designed to pay "homage to the vibrancy of Mexico". In a statement, Michaelis Boyd said that Casa Pastor – an 80-cover, cantina-like eatery – "evokes the vibrancy of Mexican street life" and draws inspiration from "American and South American motels". Plaza Pastor – a 100-cover outdoor terrace, which has been described as "drinks-led and casual" – features a small garden and a mobile stage area for live performances. The brasseries are the latest venture of the Harts Group, a company which also operates popular London dining outlets Barrafina and Quo Vadis. Close Window |
