Two-Bit Circus announces new programme of “elbow-to-elbow” events for 2019

New immersive experiences and the return of some old favourites are among a programme of events and shows announced by Two-Bit Circus, which last year opened its first ever Micro-Amusement Park in Los Angeles, US.

Opened in September 2018, the idea of the park is to engage people in "elbow-to-elbow" social entertainment. It provides a permanent location to showcase creative and immersive entertainment games and experiences, which combine the spectacle of the carnival with the latest in immersive technology.

At the amusement park there are story rooms where guests can join in with immersive adventures, arcade games, private gaming lounges, an arena for playing a variety of single or multi-player games, and Club01, described by Two-Bit Circus as a "laughter-powered, tech-enhanced, interactive stage" where "you don't just see the show, you are the show".

Among the new shows at Club01 for 2019 are: Dr Sparks’ Science Storytelling, which uses animal fables, an animated short, a smartphone app and lots of audience participation to teach kids about science concepts; the Artsy Fartsy Game, a monthly series of music meetups for circus goers to create a "fun new symphony-loving crowd"; Salty AF Comedy Show, with an ever-changing lineup of top adult comedians; and the Tasting Show: Whisky, which is offered in addition to the Tasting Game: Wine.

Returning favourite events are 49 Boxes ‒ an immersive and puzzle-cracking story-driven experience in which audiences interact with artefacts from the past and collaborate to unlock hidden mysteries; and Red Flags, an interactive theatre experience in which audience members spend one-on-one time with a character called Emma, during which they discover the misunderstandings and unexpected connections of a bad date.
