Marissa Hermer forays into US market with Fettle-designed brasserie in Los Angeles

International design studio Fettle have created the Draycott in Los Angeles, CA – the first restaurant from English restauranteur and television personality Marissa Hermer to open in the US.

The 186-cover eatery, which takes its name from Draycott Avenue in London (where Hermer met her husband, Matt) features a terrace, bar, and private dining room.

Located in the 125,000 sq ft (11,613 sq m) Palisades Village neighbourhood – the brainchild of California developer Rick Caruso – Draycott's culinary offerings and interior decor are inspired by European cafes and Rivieran culture.

The designers also said they gave the space a "California twist" and "lived-in feel" by sourcing "decorative floor and table lamps from flea markets and vintage shops across the city".

Palisades Village, which debuted in September 2018, comprises over 40 boutiques, dining outlets, and entertainment venues including the renovated Bay Theatre, which dates back to the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema.

According to Caruso, the building project was implemented to honour and reflect the "heart and soul" of the Pacific Palisades area, a seaside region that has long been praised for its idyllic appearance.

The Hermers, who relocated to Pacific Palisades last year, currently own and operate The Eclipse and Bumpkin-branded bars and restaurants in Turkey and the UK via the Ignito Group.
