Fusion reveals first look at Newcastle's restored City Baths

Fusion Lifestyles has released exclusive footage showcasing the ongoing renovation work of The City Baths in Newcastle, UK.

Home to the city's famous Turkish baths, which date back to 1838, the Grade II-listed building is expected to open later this year following a £7.5m restoration, which will see the swimming pool and Turkish baths restored to their former glory, as well as the addition of a host of new facilities including a spa, health and fitness suite and a cafe bistro.

More than 35 builders are currently involved with the project, sensitively restoring the building's original features and incorporating modern architectural structures.

Works completed so far include the fitting of a suspended floor in the health and fitness suite, as well as the structure for the two-storey glass-fronted studios, which will eventually host yoga and dance classes.

The roof lanterns throughout the fitness and pool areas have also been restored and painted a pale mint green.

Once open, The City Baths will offer an extensive programme of group exercise classes including INTENCITY, Fusion's bespoke HIIT and functional training class.

Anthony Cawley, operations director at Fusion Lifestyle, said: "This building is an important part of Newcastle's history and we want to ensure we retain as many of its design features, wherever possible, while bringing new facilities like the spa and cafe bistro to life."

"As an independent charity, we invest heavily in creating, restoring and transforming local facilities - we pout all profit directly back into our sites.

"We believe the people of Newcastle and beyond will really benefit from what we are bringing to the area."
