NORD DDB creates McHive – the world’s smallest McDonald's - for bees

McDonald's restaurants in Sweden has created McHive, the world’s smallest McDonald's, housing a full working beehive.

The hive was crafted as part of a PR campaign by Scandi creative agency NORD DDB.

The tiny replica restaurant includes a drive-through window and all McDonald’s signature design elements, including the Golden Arches.

The beehive was created to celebrate Swedish McDonald's commitment to bee conservation.

Five McDonald's in Sweden have beehives on their roofs, while others have planted bee-friendly gardens to support local bee populations.

McHive was auctioned for US$10,000 on World Bee Day in May, with funds going to bee-based projects.

NORD DDB specialises in enabling major brands to impact pop culture.
