Flying theatre among new rides at Lego Movie World expansion

Legoland Billund in Denmark has announced details of its next expansion, scheduled for 2020, which will be based on the two Lego movies: Lego Film ‒ A Clumsy Adventure and Lego Movie 2.

Lego Movie World covers a 5,000sq m (16,400sq ft) area and will include Scandinavia's first flying theatre among three new rides aimed at different age groups. Legoland said it has collaborated with Warner Bros Consumer Products in putting the new attraction together

The flying theatre allows guests to float in their seats while watching a movie on a huge 180 degree screen. They will fly past pirates and visit different areas from the films, while also experiencing wind in their hair, fog and different scents.

There will be two large rollercoasters, a 10m-high play tower, and a 12m-high tower based on the Unikitty character from Lego Movie 2, as well as a 14m-high ride that allows bigger children to control their aircraft and decide how much it should rotate.

Christian Woller, director of Legoland, commented: "We are very pleased to have another new country and three new rides here in Legoland. It will be a unique and thoroughly exhilarating experience, and our guests will no doubt feel that they are entering the amazing universe they know from the Lego films."
