Croatia's Hotel Bellevue launches aromatherapy retreat celebrating the island's indigenous plantlife

Hotel Bellevue, a Hotels and Villas resort in Lošinj, Croatia, has created a four-day aromatherapy workshop retreat designed to offer guests a 'rare glimpse' into the art of essential oil distillation.

Guests will learn everything about essential oils – from concept and inspiration and extraction – and create their own unique aromatherapy products to take home with them as a souvenir.

Guests will get to explore the island, deemed a 'natural health resort' by Viennese medical experts in the 19th century, as well as experience treatments in the Bellevue Spa Clinic, visit Lošinj's Garden of Scents and prepare and eat local cuisine using produce grown on the island.

The retreat, billed as a 'nurturing experience for all the senses', enables guests to harness of the therapeutic properties of Lošinj's indigenous herbs to improve their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Costing €520 pp, excluding accommodation and meals, the retreat includes a guided tour of Čikat Bay, where guests choose and learn about the individual benefits of their plants, as well as prepare them for extraction and create three products: a blam, tonic and face mask.

Guests will also be able to experience a cooking class, a two-hour across the island, and an excursion to the Aromatic Gardens, as well as two treatments; a detox massage and an aromatherapy facial in the spa, and two group yoga sessions.
