Ireland's first forest spa to open at Center Parcs Longford Forest

Ireland's first Forest Spa, the Aqua Sana Spa, is set to open at the upcoming Center Parcs Longford Forest resort in Ballymahon, Ireland.

Expected to open at the end of July, the Aqua Sana Spa will boast a unique forest concept, developed by spa consultancy Sparcstudio, in partnership with Holder Mathias Architects and Sisk Group.

Designed to immerse guests in 'the relaxing and re-energising powers of nature', the €10m spa is housed in a purpose-built single storey building surrounded by woodland. It features 14 treatment rooms and 21 hot, cold, herbal and meditative experiences across four thermal zones: Nordic Forest, Hot Springs, Volcanic Forest and Treetop Nesting, each offering its own unique thermal experiences.

Nordic Forest includes an Ice Cave to reinvigorate and boost circulation, an Alpine Stream room which combines rose essence and amethyst crystals, and a Forest Rain Walk which offers different scents, sounds and temperatures.

Hot Springs features a Salt Steam Room, waterfall showers and two outdoor hot tubs, while the Volcanic Forest provides a space where guests can relax listening to the calming sounds of a crackling fire whilst enjoying soothing heat experiences such as the Lava Sauna and Volcanic Steam rooms.

The Treetop Nesting zone offers a range of experiences, such as heated treetop loungers, that enable guests to embrace 'the healing power of nature'.

Heat cabins for the thermal experiences were provided by Schletterer, an Austria-based wellness consultancy firm, while Hansgrohe supplied the brassware and Porcelanosa supplied the ceramic tiles.

Additionally, the spa will offer an extensive treatment menu boasting rituals from luxury product houses Voya and Elemis.

Neil Fairplay, director of Sparcstudio, said: "Sparcstudio have created and designed the new 'Forest Spa' concept for Centre Parcs which is inspired by the tranquil and therapeutic properties of the Forest environment."

"Each thermal zone has a unique, temperate feel, inspired by Nordic Forests, Volcanic geothermal landscapes and Japanese Mountain Onsens. Spa guests can enjoy a multitude of light and dark, immersive and stimulating relaxation spaces and an outdoor infinity edged thermal swimming pool surrounded by gardens and forest views."

Kay Pennington, Aqua Sana Group spa manager, said: "We've undertaken careful research of wellness trends to develop our unique spa offering in Longford Forest and look forward to welcoming guests to Aqua Sana so that they can experience the forest and its revitalising powers in our beautiful setting very soon!"

Pennington added: "We are delighted to launch the bookings for Aqua Sana in Ireland and reveal the exciting details of what is to come to our Forest Spa."
