The Alchemist Spa targets the teenage market with new treatment menu

The Alchemist Spa at Woolacombe Bay Hotel in Devon, UK, has teamed up with product house Natural Spa Factory to launch its new summer treatment menu, which will include treatments for teenagers.

Designed with an emphasis on self-care, the seasonal menu will give guests the opportunity to spend time alone to reflect and recharge.

The new treatments will include a summery twist on the spa's Rasul experience, an Arabic bathing ritual combining mineral-rich mud, heat and steam with an exfoliating scrub. Guests will be able to choose from five evocative summer scents including watermelon, citrus, lavender, floral and chocolate, with each offering its own benefits.

Capitalising on the current trend for multi-generational tourists and spa visitors, as reported in Q2 of Spa Business, The Alchemist will also introduce a selection of treatments for teenagers. Designed to give teens the chance to enjoy spa time with their parents and relax after a stressful school year, the treatments, consist of Teenage Dream, a soothing facial developed for younger, hormonal, combination and sensitive skin types and Prom Date, a gel manicure or pedicure.

A range of 'fruity' facials and sea salt pedicures complete the menu.

Clare Palfreeman, spa manager at The Alchemist, said: "We offer seasonal brochures throughout the year as we want to be able to offer a variety of treatments inspired by the seasons. This is not only nice for our regular clients but also the therapists, as it keeps everything fresh."

"I introduced teenage treatments during school holidays because I know as a mum how nice it is to treat your child. I recognised our main brochure can seem daunting for a teenager so we gave their treatments a slightly lower price point and included a drink so they could feel like a grown up," Palfreeman added.
