Emaar unveil plan for new lifestyle and community-focussed Dubai town

Emaar have unveiled the masterplan for a new self-contained town in Dubai called the Valley, focussed on providing a balanced lifestyle for residents, a strong sense of community and family-friendly living.

Once complete, the AED 25 billion ($7b, €6b, £5b) project will cover 200ha (494ac) and have over 4,500 homes.

Set in green landscaping, it will mix its residential offer with open spaces, as well as retail, entertainment, recreational, educational and health facilities.

The first phase of the development is to be called Eden and will contain 380 three-bedroom and four-bedroom homes, as well as outdoor parks an urban beach, a children's centre, a sports village and other community facilities.

Mohamad Alabbar, chairman of Emaar, said: "Redefining the landscape of Dubai is at the core of Emaar’s story and The Valley encapsulates this next chapter.

"We are attuned to the future trends of the property market and look forward to building the city’s first-ever self-contained town where the infrastructure fosters social cohesion and authentic interaction, two critical aspects of modern dwelling."

No completion date for the Valley as a whole has been set, but Eden is due to be completed by the end of 2022.
