Ghana is location for new Resense spa with private health concierge

Spa consultancy and contract management company, Resense, has opened the Resense Spa & Wellness at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra, in Ghana.

The Resense Accra experience boasts a 3,000sq m spa spread across three floors, with each level dedicated to a separate speciality.

The first-floor spa will have 10 treatment rooms and features a variety of thermal experiences including a traditional mosaic hammam, separate male and female bathing facilities with sauna, and an aroma steamroom. Laconium beds, whirlpool baths and experience showers complete the mix.

The spa has been finished with contemporary, luxury materials and details such as white marble, leather, natural stone and wood and is decorated with modern African art, chosen to transform the spa into a living art gallery.

R&R Luxury is supplying treatments and Resense has announced that Phytomer and Charme d’Orient will be introduced imminently.

Due to open in Q2 of 2020, offerings on the second floor will be based around beauty, with hair, nail and barber services. A spa café will also be located on this level, serving champagne, juices and healthy dishes prepared from fresh ingredients.

The third floor will be dedicated to fitness, with a gym equipped by Life Fitness.

Resense has enhanced the spa experience by implementing a Private Health Concierge system for guests. The service will extend past the standard receptionist set-up and coordinate every aspect of the guest’s time in the spa to create a bespoke, personalised wellness experience.

On arrival, the Private Health Concierge will assess guest’s needs, tailor their treatments and ensure each guest receives an individualised experience based on their desired outcomes.

The spa menu ranges from massages and body scrubs to definitive experiences – treatments crafted with local experiences and products, claimed to deliver a sense of place.

Three are available: The Journey, The Hammam, and The Turkish Bath Ceremony, all of which have been designed around a treatment in the spa’s Hammam.

“Resense Accra provides guests with a classical European service, a luxurious atmosphere and an element of surprise. We provide experiences, rather than treatments, in a highly personalised way and in a spa that will be the highlight of West Africa’s wellness,” says Emma Darby, Resense COO.

Resense is also offering private spa membership with the option of either six or 12 months costing GHS15,000 (€2,372, $2,634, £2002) and GHS24,000 (€3,796, US$4,217, £3,203) respectively. This allows guests discounted services, full facility access, personal training sessions, access to all wellness events, seminars and health assessments opportunities.
