New York's highest outdoor residential amenity space opens at Fifteen Hudson Yards

A new amenities space, designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro with interiors by Rockwell Group, has opened 900ft (274m) up in the air at Fifteen Hudson Yards in New York.

Skytop is part of the building's 40,000sq ft (3,700sq m) of wellness, entertaining and leisure amenities and is located in the cloverleaf-shaped curves of the building’s crown.

The 6,000sq ft (560sq m) of amenities it offers include an open-air terrace with a vast glazed screen providing views of the city and the Hudson River and an indoor private dining room for up to 18 guests with a full catering kitchen, bar and lounge.

Planters around the space contain multi-stemmed white oak trees, referencing the greenery of the High Line Park below.

"Skytop truly raises the bar for entertaining in New York City," said Sherry Tobak, senior vice president of Related Companies. "Whether planning an intimate dinner party or a large celebration, residents enjoy a spectacular and exciting indoor-outdoor experience. As with all of the amenities at Fifteen Hudson Yards, Skytop offers incomparable views and natural light."

David Rockwell, founder and president of the Rockwell Group, said: "Skytop is the moment where Fifteen Hudson Yards morphs into its deepest and most dramatic inflection point, so our intent was to take advantage of the tower’s energy and celebrate its extraordinary views. The amenities are conceived of as fluid spaces that open up to the rooftop, creating the feeling of an extension of a penthouse with a vast window onto the city."
