09 Jun 2020 France's Futuroscope theme park to reopen on 13 June with limited capacity BY Tom Walker |
The Futuroscope theme park in Poitiers, France, will reopen to the public on 13 June. For the first two weeks – until 27 June – the park will only open its doors during the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and the number of visitors will be limited to 5,000 people. Each visitor will have to pre-book their visit and once the 5,000 capacity is reached, the booking system will be closed. Following the "soft launch", from 27 June, the park – which is owned by French attractions giant Compagnie des Alpes – will be open every day of the week, but with the limited capacity in place. In certain areas of the park, visitors will be required to wear a face mask, while social distancing measures will also be observed. The park has also introduced "virtual queues" – using the Lineberty app – for each individual attraction. Restaurants within the park will operate at reduced capacity, while all retail outlets will implement a maximum capacity policy – with a "one in, one out" system in place. All facilities and amenities accessible by guests will also be disinfected throughout the day. There will also be 200 alcohol-based sanitiser dispensers installed across the Park. "We have been working with the government to put in place health measures to keep our visitors and our teams safe," Futurescope said in a statement. "Our customer-facing teams will be provided with protective equipment and have been fully trained in hygiene protocols. "We have also increased our team numbers to ensure guests remain safe and able to move freely around the park." First opened in 1987, Futuroscope has a wide range of attractions featuring multimedia, cinematographic and audio-visual technology – including several 3D and 4D cinemas and shows. Close Window |
