Disneyland Paris to open Art of Marvel hotel in June

Disneyland Paris has confirmed that it will open its long-awaited Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel hotel in June.

The theme park is set to reopen its gates to guests – for the first time since COVID-19 lockdowns – on Thursday 17 June, with the Marvel hotel following on Monday 21 June.

The hotel has been designed as a New York art gallery and is the first hotel in the world dedicated to Marvel art.

It houses one of the largest publicly-viewable collections of Marvel artwork, with 350 pieces of art by more than 100 artists. Much of the art has been made available to view in the Jack Kirby Legacy Gallery, named after trailblazing comic book artist Jack “The King” Kirby.

The hotel has 471 superior rooms and 90 executive rooms, including 25 suites dedicated to Spider-Man, the Avengers and Marvel Super Heroes.

Other themed experiences include restaurants and bar concepts and "photo opportunity zones", where guests can snap themselves with their favourite character.

Guests will also be able to try their hand at creating their own comic art at the Marvel Design Studio and try out their skills at the Hero Training Zone, an outdoor area featuring a variety of sports activities for all ages.

A spokesperson for Disneyland Paris said: "Guests will be able to live the high life in this completely reimagined 4-star hotel.

"They can Enjoy Manhattan-style comfort and personalised service in this modern hotel that has assembled Earth’s mightiest Marvel artwork."

The opening comes as Disney is expanding its Marvel-themed footprint across its parks globally.

The group is will open its long-awaited Avengers Campus at the Disneyland California resort in Anaheim on 4 June 2021 – the first of three Marvel Campuses being developed by Walt Disney Imagineering on three different continents. (To read more, click here.)
