Xponential signs club in club deal with LA Fitness

Xponential Fitness has secured a deal that will see its branded boutique studios being set up at existing LA Fitness and City Sports Club locations across the US.

The franchise company has signed a partnership agreement with Fitness International – operator of LA Fitness and City Sports Clubs – which will result in a minimum development of 350 franchised locations over five years.

According to the agreement, Xponential can now offer the opportunity to invite existing franchisees, who own a studio with an LA Fitness or City Sports Club site within their territory, to open an Xponential brand studio inside of these locations.

Memberships at the Xponential brand studio within the larger facilities will then be made available to existing gym members for an additional cost.

Xponential said the move will cut studio development time and buildout costs of studio locations while existing franchise partners will be able to operate the sites free of initial franchise fees and with lower marketing fund fees.

Development of Xponential Fitness brand studios within Fitness International locations is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2022.

Anthony Geisler, CEO of Xponential Fitness CEO, said: "This exclusive development agreement with Fitness International furthers our mission of making boutique fitness accessible to everyone, increases our total addressable market, and provides expansion opportunities to our franchisees.

"This provides a unique opportunity for franchisees to increase their reach and overall revenue generation within their protected territories."

Jill Grueling, president, club operations of Fitness International, added: "We're proud to welcome Xponential brand studios to our LA Fitness and City Sports Club locations.

"Xponential will bring additional high-quality fitness experiences to our members. We are confident their boutique fitness brands will provide an excellent complement to our members' existing workout routines."

Founded in 2017, Xponential Fitness has built and curated a diversified platform of 10 boutique fitness brands across a wide range of verticals. Its portfolio of brands includes Club Pilates, CycleBar, StretchLab, Row House, AKT, YogaSix, Pure Barre, STRIDE, Rumble and Body Fit Training, which it acquired in October this year.

Fitness International has more than 700 locations across 27 US states and Canada, operating under three brands – LA Fitness, Esporta Fitness and City Sports Club.
