Mandarin Oriental announces standalone Mansions-branded residences for Abu Dhabi

Mandarin Oriental has announced a standalone residence brand, Mansions, which will debut at Emirates Palace, Mandarin Oriental Mansions, Abu Dhabi, in 2029.

The creation of a new residence brand marks the expansion of the group’s global portfolio of residence offerings, which until now have fallen under the Mandarin Oriental Residences brand.

Laurent Kleitman, group chief executive of Mandarin Oriental, said: “Abu Dhabi continues to distinguish itself internationally through the depth of its cultural identity, the quality of its hospitality, and the clarity of its long-term vision. Emirates Palace, Mandarin Oriental Mansions, allows us to further our relationship with the capital through a residential experience rooted in discretion, craftsmanship, and thoughtful service. We are honoured to contribute to a setting that holds such significance within the region.”

The 35 private mansions will be built in the grounds of the Emirates Palace, Mandarin Oriental, which is owned by Emirates Palace Company (EPCO) and developed in partnership with Abu Dhabi-based developer, LEAD Development.

There are four main mansion designs that repeat across the complex, alongside custom-designed properties by architectural firms WSA and SAOTA. The buildings will offer high levels of privacy and will feature courtyards, gardens and sea views.

Facilities

While residents will have access to amenities at Emirates Palace, Mandarin Oriental, there will be residents-only facilities on offer in this new development.

They include a private swimming pool, a spa and a gym.

Emirates Palace, Mandarin Oriental

Emirates Palace, Mandarin Oriental was originally opened as a Kempinski hotel in 2005, before Mandarin Oriental took over the operation in 2020, relaunching it in 2023 after a comprehensive refurbishment.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Emirates Palace, features 1,500sq m of facilities, including seven treatment rooms, a grand Moroccan hammam and a smaller private one too. There are also hideaway spa cabanas.

There are also two whirlpools, two steamrooms and an ice cave.
