08 Jun 2026 Fitness First adds red light therapy to relaxation classes BY Kath Hudson |
Fitness First UK is integrating red light therapy into its yoga and Pilates classes through a partnership with Bon Charge. The company's Red Light Therapy Blankets have been introduced to multiple classes at Fitness First’s Marylebone and Cottons clubs in line with the company’s mission to make premium wellness experiences accessible. The use of the blankets deepens the restorative benefits of the class, promoting relaxation and muscle recovery so members feel rejuvenated. There are also plans to introduce Bon Charge’s Infrared PEMF Mat Max to the recovery space at the Cottons club. The mat uses pulsed electromagnetic frequencies – designed to mirror the earth’s rhythms to aid relaxation, support sleep and clear the mind – along with red light and heat therapy. Marc Diaper, CEO of Fitness First UK, says: “Recovery is becoming just as important to members as the workout itself. People want fitness experiences that help them feel better, move better and switch off from increasingly busy lifestyles. “We see a real opportunity to make recovery technology more accessible by integrating it into the gym environment in a way that feels natural and approachable – not exclusive or intimidating. “This partnership is part of a much bigger shift in how we think about fitness clubs and the role they play in supporting overall wellbeing.” Andy Mant, CEO of Bon Charge, says: “Modern life has disconnected people from the environments our biology evolved for. Poor sleep, chronic stress, lack of recovery, and constant stimulation have become normalised, which is why more people are actively prioritising wellbeing and recovery today. Marc Diaper will be a keynote speaker at this year's HCM Summit on 22 October in London. Click here to secure your place. Close Window |
