![]() Drayton Manor theme park near Tamworth, UK will open Europe’s first Thomas Land during 2008. The £4.5m development will transform a 6,000sq m area at the park into a Thomas and Friends zone including themed rides featuring popular character from the television show, such as Cranky the Crane and The Troublesome Trucks. The new attraction will also feature a Thomas train that will take guests on a five-minute journey through the area. Construction on Thomas Land has begun and it is due to open to the public in Easter 2008. It is the first of its kind in Europe, and only the second Thomas Land in the world. The first opened in Japan in 1998 and attracts around 1.7 million people a year. Close Window |
