![]() The oldest holiday resort in the Maldives has nearly completed a £20m redevelopment. Kurumba Village, part of the Universal Resorts Group, first opened in 1972. It will relaunch in December 2003. New facilities will include a range of new rooms, suites and villas, all with private gardens, a bar over the lagoon, landscaped gardens, and a play area for children. There will also be a new spa, which will be entered via a wooden walkway above an ornamental pool. Services on offer will include Ayurvedic treatments, massage and aromatherapy.
