The Australasian Regional Association of Zoological Parks and Aquaria (ARAZPA) recognised outstanding achievements in Australasian zoos and aquariums at its annual awards in Sydney in March. Adelaide Zoo and Alice Springs desert Park were recognised for their outstanding achievement in scientific research for their red-tailed Phascogales Project. Perth Zoo won the large scale exhibit award for its Sun Bear exhibit and Werribbee Open Range Zoo in Victoria was recognised for its outstanding educational design for its “conservation connections – supporting wildlife education in Africa” programme. Adelaide Zoo also won an ARAZPA In Situ conservation award for its exceptional effort toward habitat preservation, species restoration and support of biodiversity in the wild. Close Window |
