28 Apr 2004 Swissôtel launches children’s room concept |
Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts (SHR) has launched its first children’s room at The Bosphorus in Istanbul, Turkey. The room is tailored for children aged between two and eight years-old and is fitted with child-friendly materials and furnishings. The room features a Play Corner with a large selection of toys and a collection of DVDs. Connected to a parent’s room, the room also offers ‘car beds’ in which the more exhausted of the little guests can take a rest from play. Meinhard Huck, managing director of SHR, said: “Children have different needs from those of adults when travelling on holiday. Having a young daughter myself, I am able to appreciate the benefits of staying at a child-friendly hotel.” The Designed for Kids concept follows the success of special baby facilities – available at all Swissôtels in Europe – that include a baby cot, a miniature bathrobe and nappies in each room. The chain plans to roll out the concept to its other hotels worldwide within the year. Swissôtel Hotel & Resorts is the deluxe hotel division of the Singapore-based Raffles Holdings. Raffles operates a 12,000-room portfolio that comprises of hotels and resorts in 31 destinations across five continents. Details: www.swissotel.com or www.rafflesholdings.com Close Window |
