Radisson opens its resort spa at Hungarian golf hotel

Hotel chain, Radisson SAS, opened its first resort hotel in Hungary last month, offering guests a spa and golf experience at its Birdland Resort & Spa in Bük, close to the Austrian border.

Facilities at the 3,500sq m spa include a 20m swimming pool, a children’s pool, a hydro massage pool, two thermal water pools and a heated outdoor pool with a Caribbean themed pool bar.

Other amenities include two saunas, a glazed steam bath, a tepidarium, frigidarium a herbarium and a relaxation area.

There is also a fully equipped aromatherapy room, a salted air inhalation room and a number of treatment rooms, offering hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and massages.

Sporting facilities – which already include an 18-hole golf course, an aerobics room, a fully equipped gym, biking and jogging courses – will be further improved during summer 2004, when tennis courts will be added on the grounds of the hotel.

The 208-room hotel aims to become Hungary’s top golfing resort and has began construction to add nine more holes to its internationally recognised national championship course.

Radisson SAS, which was founded in 1994 after the merger of SAS International and Carlson Hotels Worldwide, operates 200 properties in five different brands in 40 countries.
