New chair for Yorkshire Dales authority
BY Pete Hayman

Kevin Lancaster has been appointed as the new chair of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority (YDNPA).

Lancaster, who is also a South Lakeland district councillor and the YDNPA's member champion for corporate management, was elected to the post at an authority meeting last week.

He will replace the outgoing chair, Carl Lis, who held the position for four years. "It has been hard work but very rewarding," said Lis.

"I have been chair during some milestone events in the life of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, like the introduction of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act in Upper North West and North East England."
