11 Aug 2008 Insurance deal for Power Plate BY Tom Walker |
Power Plate Germany has secured a partnership with BKK Insurance, Germany’s third largest insurance company, to address the issue of costly and debilitating back pain/injury. The deal follows a co-ordinated effort between Power Plate Germany, rehab specialists and BKK medical insurance representatives, resulting in BKK offering its endorsement of the Power Plate Prevention Concept. Participants on the scheme – developed specifically as a preventative measure against back-associated injuries and conditions – receive 16 subsidised Power Plate sessions over an eight-week period, to which BKK contributes 80 per cent of the cost. Members of the scheme are also entitled to reimbursement for alternative preventative measures up to an agreed limit, and can expect to see lower premiums as a result. It was developed in accordance with Germany’s Präventionsgesetz Law, or preventative law, which encourages the use of alternative preventative therapy/health solutions that can benefit personal wellness.
