The value of theme park developments in the The United Arab Emirates, which includes Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, is set to reach AED228bn (US$62bn, £33bn, 42bn euro) by 2012. Figures from event organiser CMPi show that there are currently more than 30 multi-faceted entertainment resorts and theme parks being built in the region, while there is still room for significant growth. Paul Grinnall, spokesperson for CMPi, said: "The UAE has shown a vision for entertainment and theme parks, along with their long-term potential for financial gain, in an insatiable entertainment and travel market." CMPi recently launched a new trade show for the region's visitor attractions industry, called MEAAPLE, to be held in Abu Dhabi in February 2008. Close Window |
