Owner and chief executive of Stoke tourist attraction, Water World, Mo Chaudry, is to invest £1m in the venue on improvements recommended by customers.

The park has already seen more than £3m worth of investment, including a recent redevelopment of the changing areas, but for the latest stage, Chaudry asked visitors for their views.

Respondents named the development of the existing outdoor swimming pool, a new children’s play area and a large themed restaurant as their top priorities but also expressed desires for an ice rink, crèche and gym facilities.

The study also found that 85 per cent of visitors intended to return and almost 50 per cent would be willing to pay more for a visit to Water World.

“Over a quarter of those questioned asked us to focus our attention on the outdoor pool area and so that’s exactly what we’ll do,” said Chaudry.

“A number of very good suggestions were made by our visitors and we will take account of as many of them as we can, but enclosing the outdoor pool, sprucing that area up and installing another ride will be the main focus of our attention for the next year.”
