Tourists get Trigger happy in San Francisco

Tourists get Trigger happy in San Francisco

A bright yellow, three-wheeled car developed by Dutch company, Trigger Technics, has become the latest tourist attraction in San Francisco.

Tour company, GoCar, has purchased eight of the Trigger 50 cars and fitted them with a GPS-driven (Global Positioning System) audio guide that literally talks the driver through a tour.

This includes visits to such city landmarks as Fisherman’s Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Haight Ashbury district and Ocean Beach. It also features a trip down Lombard Street, allegedly the ‘crookedest street in the world’.

Clear navigating instructions are provided and a commentary is given as each of a number of attractions is passed. Hire is by the hour or the day – with a tour lasting about two hours – and interest since the concept started has led to GoCar moving to double its fleet.

The cars are also available for general hire for those people wishing to do their own tour. Details: www.triggers.nl / www.gocarsf.com
