Dusit announces launch of D2 brand with Chiang Mai hotel

Thai hotel management company Dusit Hotels and Resorts has announced it is to launch a new brand of lifestyle hotels.

The new concept – called D2 to signify the ‘second generation’ of Dusit hotels – will focus on a blend of modern design with Thai accents.

The first property, the D2hotel Chiang Mai will open in northern Thailand early next year.

Keith Blott, vice president marketing and sales for Dusit, said: “Dusit Hotels and Resorts is still successfully offering genuine Thai hospitality, but the time has come to expand and create a new brand extension which will appeal to the individuals who search for a place that will not only cater to all their expectations but add a whole new experience.”

The Chiang Mai hotel will boast 130 bedrooms, two restaurants, a gym, a business club lounge, meeting and banqueting facilities and Dusit’s signature Deverana Spa.

The company, which currently operates more than 20 hotels in five countries under the Dusit and Royal Princess brands, plans to expand the D2 brand both within Thailand and overseas.

The next D2 hotel is expected to open in the Thai capital, Bangkok.
