Le Mirage launches in the desert

Leading Lodges has opened its newest resort spa in Sossusvlei, Namibia, close to the Namib Naukluft Park.

The fortress-styled, 25-room Le Mirage Desert Lodge & Spa overlooks the Namib desert and was designed by Paul Van de Vijver. Each air-conditioned room offers views of the desert and opens into the courtyard.

The 240sq m (2,580sq ft) spa has six treatment rooms and offers a range of massages, aromatherapy, hydrotherapy and body wraps. Other facilities include a whirpool and swimming pool.

The resort is owned by VDV Holdings and will be managed by Leading Lodges, which also provides the spa’s therapists.

The resort’s other amenities include a restaurant, bar, a large communal fireplace with barbecue facilities and a conference centre for 75 people.

Guests can also enjoy a number of activities offered by the close proximity of the desert, including hot air ballooning and quad biking.

Leading Lodges operates three resort spas in Namibia -– the Eagle Tented Lodge near Epacha Private Game Reserve and the Epacha Game Lodge & Spa near the Etosha National Park.
