International Spa Operations Manager

SCOPE OF JOB
Effectively manage a portfolio of spas within the Spa Division. All spas within a portfolio require focus on the commercial success, the highest standards of spa excellence and to ensure guest experience is world class. Building relationships in all accounts with key stakeholders to understand their business needs, establish and maintain key objectives, operating criteria, programming, basic finance, staff relations, career development, marketing and training.

• Learn the difference in level of support between different spa agreements (product, audit, managed, branded)
• Travel smart and incur expenses sensibly, as if they were your own.
• To work as a team player within the Spa Division, taking regular direction from Senior Associates and the Vice President of Operations to develop skills, learn systems and remain accountable for work.
• To assume responsibility for the overall performance of each Spa appointed to you within the ESPA Portfolio. Constantly identify and focus on critical areas in line with achieving the agreed objectives.
• Develop a clear understanding of each Spa, from contract commitments and billing to covering financial, marketing, personnel and training and general operations to establish the business. This will include the:
-- aims and individual objectives of the hotel
-- local and cultural characteristics of the area
-- demographics of the international guests
-- training needs of the Spa team to deliver the highest of five star standards.
• To interact with key personnel at each hotel to ensure the Spa receives profile, action and focus as required.
• To provide leadership, direction and support to the employees at the Spa to develop a highly motivated team, who can deliver high standards of service in all areas of the business.
• To monitor standards of performance and guest satisfaction including the introduction of measures to ensure the highest standards of quality and service are adhered to.
• Establish and maintain standards of operation, ensuring that ESPA branding is strongly and appropriately represented, whilst protecting the brand, pricing and status at all times.
• To ensure that all company expenses and expenditure is agreed and presented for approval on a monthly basis.

KEY skills and requirements
• The role requires extensive experience at Management level within a luxury Spa environment or similar (Hotel, Health & Fitness or Hospitality business).
• Ability to communicate effectively at all business levels and to develop sustainable relationships.
• An affinity for numerical work and experience in financial business analysis and cost control.
• Understanding of the dynamics of working within the hotel industry and at Senior Level.
• Experienced people-manager with demonstrable skills as a leader, motivator and communicator.
• In-depth knowledge of all Spa operational areas, including treatments and services, preferably having direct first hand experience.
• IT literate with a good understanding of Spa Management Software and all Microsoft applications.
• Ability to work both pro-actively, reactively and strategically.
• Ability to effectively time manage, multitask and prioritise workload.
• Flexibility to travel globally and stay away from home for extended periods as and when required.
• Impeccable grooming in keeping with ESPA Brand and five star industry standards.
